Wow, I can’t believe that it has been over a year since I last posted some information on this site. A lot has happened in that year. Many positives and negatives but overall things have been good.
One of the things that I realized recently is that I let a good site and concept die here with Internet Guru Critique but it will be reborn bigger and better than it ever was! I won’t go into details with all of what the team has planned but I will say this, the review are coming back but only 1000 times better!
The best way to get a good review is to have you guys add your experiences with the products we talk about! We will provide information as impartially as possible (something that I didn’t do a good job of before) giving you an idea of what we perceive as being the best application of the product and who it is most suited for (newbies or veterans and shades in between).
I will let you know if we got a chance to directly sample the product, if we interviewed the owner of the product, or if we were just given specs. No Hype! Also, you will know whether we are affiliates of the product or not. It the majority of situations we will be. Will that affect our ability to be impartial? NO! Obviously if you purchase through us, we thank you for that. If not, hopefully we have given you a perspective that helped you make your decision.
Ok, that’s all for now. I will reveal more in the coming weeks so stay tuned!
I know that there is a lot of people vying for your attention during the relaunch of Product Launch Formula so I wanted to give away something a little unique for the occasion. You may have read about how I feel about product launches so today, I put up! Take a look at the video below and you’ll see what I’m taking about. Once you’ve finished watching it, go here for more detail.
Do you want to be the next Myspace? Facebook? Well, most likely, you have about a snow balls chance of getting to their level but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn from them. Now I assume that you have already caught the addiction of being on those site but if you haven’t, sign up now! If you do understand the hub-bub then let me ask you this, what did those sites ask you to do when you first signed up? Do you remember?
Well, you came to a screen that looked like this:
Do you know what that means? Well, they are asking you to help spread the word for them. Not just by “telling a few friends” or something slow like that, they asked that you login to your Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, etc. account and allow them to send invitations to all of your contacts!
Now on the surface this seems pretty benign but when you think about how most people have dozens to HUNDREDS of names that Facebook can now send invitation to, the viral nature of how fast they grew becomes pretty frickin’ obvious. Remember, each of the 20-200 people in your contacts also have 20-200 contacts of their own so the speed of which word get out is staggering!!!
Okay, why does this matter and why do you care? Well, because you can do it for yourself, that why!
Reed Floren & Matt Haslem have release Optin Accelerator that uses the same techniques that unleased the viral pandemic of Facebook and tailor it to work with your small business. Now we have all heard that you gotta have a list, well bubba here’s how you are going to build it.
You don’t have to be technically inclined like some basement code monkey but you do need to know how to follow instruction.
Back in October, I wrote a post about product launch season being in full swing. What a lot of people don’t know is why October is one of the biggest months for product launches. A number of years ago Jeff Walker began studying the elements behind creating the momentum needed to have tremendous sales of your product out the gate no matter the size of your list, or if you even had one!
Since then, all the gurus you hear about today have taken his formula to create multi-million dollar business. John Reese, Mike Filsaime, Frank Kern, Rich Schefren, etc. have seen their fortunes increase dramatically due to their exposure to Product Launch Formula.
Recently, Jeff had taken his coveted formula off the market to the dismay of many people but rumors had spread that a new and improved version was in the works. Since the first Product Launch formula came out the internet landscape changes dramatically. With the onslaught of “Web 2.0″ sites and the social revolution taking control of the net it was time to introduce new elements to the mix.
Now I don’t want to give to much away but click here to check out a video of a man that went from food stamps to over $100,000 a year selling board games and how a woman launch a product to the tune of $140,000 with a list of only 800 people!
Jeff Walker has put together a helluva system with PLF and amongst all the hype of all the launches that have come down the pike, this is one of the few that cut through the clutter. So go ahead and check out the video and see for your self.

I just came across a post from Dan Theis about an email he got from Google about a new feature they will be adding called “Automatic Matching”. In essence, this is Google keeping it’s promise to “Do No Evil” by making sure you spend every last dime in your budget on keywords you never wanted to target in the first place.
They use their almighty algorithm to find terms that are related to the ones you are bidding on that you may have missed and just start showing your ads on them if you have room in your daily budgets to do so. So altruistic of Google to help me by automatically switching on a feature that will automatically spend my money for me. Check out this other shocking revelation from Don @ SERPzone. What would I do without them?
Ok, let me send this question to the Googleplex. Do you really want to help me? Really, do you? Okay, get closer to your screen, cuz I gotta suggestion. . . JUST MAKE A RECOMMENDATION!!!! Why in the world would I want you to start spending my money without my direct consent? If I miss a keyword that works then it is MY FAULT for missing it. You know what. . . ignorance is bliss. If you start automatically spending my money on keywords you suggest without my explicit concent, will you automatically refund my account when I find out that your automatic matching doesn’t convert worth a damn?
To me this seems like a ploy to squeeze more revenue out of unsuspecting advertisers that will just roll over and take it due to the power of your network. Flexing your muscle to strong arm small business into these arrangements because they don’t have much choice in the matter.
Maybe I am overreacting but I just don’t see the point of where Automatic Matching will be of much help. Again, why not just make a suggestion about words you think would be helpful and let ME make the decision? Then again, you can’t temporarily pad revenues for your next earnings announcement. How far is that stock from the 52 week high?

I came across an interest post from Soshable that went over a few tips that you can employ to get your story to the front page of Digg, Propeller, Reddit, Mix, etc. I tend to use these site for the back links they give in addition to finding some interesting stories so I never really gave much thought to getting to the front page.
After reading the article, I may give it a try. They process doesn’t seem difficult, just time consuming. I don’t hold high regard for the quality of the traffic as I have yet to hear of someone make a lot of money from the traffic they received as a result of a front page listing. Do you know anyone?
Oh well, I’ll try it just to have bragging rights and hope that I am pleasantly surprised by a rush of sales.
The concept of “moving the free line” is not a concept new to business but it has become an increasingly important one in our interconnected age. So much so that your prospects are becoming accustomed to having marketers give them stuff. It is quickly moving to the point where you need to give something away just to be competitive.
Brad Fallon, of Stompernet, recently did a video explaining what it meats to “move the free line” in your business. It may seem counterintuitive that you have to give something away in order to make money but take a few minutes to check it out for yourself. Once you’ve watched it, think of ways that you can give away as much stuff as is rational to give so that you can inflate your sales funnel with new prospects.
If you don’t have a very good sales funnel, then work on that first so that you have a good process to send people to begin with.

One of the things that I hope to eliminate from my vocabulary this year is the whole thing about an “Internet Business”. I first heard Dan Kennedy refer to the internet as simply a marketing channel, which is exactly what it is, a channel.
Too often people get a marketing channel confused with a business type, I was guilty of this as well. Think of the other marketing channels available and add the word ‘business’ to the end such as a TV business or a Radio Business, etc. Sounds silly unless you control the airwaves of course.
Tommy from Planet Bluto put it better when he said that there is no such thing as an internet business and I agree, check out the post here because he explains it a lot better than I can.
Search Engine Optimization should be should be one of the pillars of any online marketing campaign. Positioning yourself at the top of the search engines not only gives you traffic but it also gives you a branding effect as more people see your site.
SEO has always been, for some, too difficult to learn and implement. I can understand that because I waded through a lot of bad information, myself, on the path of learning how to get number 1 rankings for just about anything I wanted.
There are a lot of assumptions that are completely wrong that get passed around like they’re gospel when in reality, no one tests these assumption to see if they are valid! Maybe they heard something in a forum, maybe from a conference call with a PPC expert saying how “hard” SEO is either way they are WRONG!
Test everything!
One gentleman that I have a lot of respect for is an avid tester. If you read his blog, which I suggest that you do, you would get a birds eye view of many of the assumptions he test and subsequently blows out of the water. The person I am referring to is Jon Leger of Instant Article Wizard fame (among others).
He is releasing a report called Search Engine Myths Exposed. While the name of the report is a bit cheesy, the information it contains is hard hitting. Some of the Myth’s he smacks down are:
Myth #1: Google Knows All and Sees All
Myth #2: Google Will Not Rank Duplicate Content Myth #3: You Must Get Links From Related Subject Sites to Rank
Myth #4: Your Site Must Focus On One Subject To Rank Myth #5: High PageRank Means Good Rankings
Myth #6: To Maintain Good Rankings, You Must Add New Content
..and..
MYTH #7: THE BIGGEST MYTH: Ranking In Google Is Hard!
Now I’ve been doing SEO for over 3 years now and have tested lots of stuff in lots of markets. Occasionally I delve into the internet marketing arena to do some testing and the first thing that I tend to do is ignore what the herd is saying and doing. Dan Kennedy said it the best when he mentioned that he looks at what the crowds do and do the exact opposite!
Search Engine Myths Exposed lets you be that contrarian, that lone dissenting voice that will lead you down the less traveled path to the money you are looking to make online.
So go ahead and head on over and sign up to get the free preview chapter. There is no obligation to buy anything. Oh, did I mention that the full report is also free?
