Using ‘Your Squeeze Page” To Build Lists.

Matthew Glanfield is the main guy behind this product. He is a well know internet marketer in the area of affiliate marketing. You can get a sample of what his squeeze page looks like by clicking here. One of the best things that any software company can do to market their product is to give away a free version or offer a cheap trial version. They do both here.

The free version, as you may expect, is very limited in scope. Not from them stripping away any cool features but for how often you can use it. It allows you to create only 1 squeeze page. If you are like me than 1 is no good because I have multiple squeeze pages on multiple sites. If you have a very limited internet presence, you could probably survive with just one. (Not for long, though. . .)

The next step up is the $1, 14-day trial. Here you can create an unlimited number of squeeze pages for anything you want. You don’t even need a website! (I’ll get to that later) After the 14 day trial, you are charged a monthly fee for the service. They host all of your squeeze pages for you at no additional cost. (Have a link forward to your squeeze page, HINT, HINT!)

Okay, down to the nitty gritty. How does it all work!

Your Squeeze Page has a 8 step process to creating your squeeze pages. It is very easy to follow and requires no advanced technical know how. Each step is also accompanied by a video tutorial showing exactly what you need to do. So if you are smarter than me, and you probably are, you probably won’t have any trouble building your first page at all.

It also give you the ability to use your own autoresponder! If you have an account with Aweber, 1shoppingcart, or Get Contact, you are in business. Those are the only three that they currently support but the mentioned adding more in the future. I personally use Aweber because it has the best email deliverablility.

Probably the best feature is the testing capability. This gives you the ability to test different elements of the page to improve conversions. The system will take two, or more, headlines you create and show them to different visitors. It tracks which headline it showed to each person so they see just the one. I then shows you how many people opted in on each version.

After a period of time, you can see which headline gave you better conversions and toss the one that didn’t perform as well. Can you see the power in that? You can also test pictures, audio, video, bullet points, testimonials, etc. You can probably get carried away testing your page so keep it in moderation.

Here are some things that could be improved.

Your Squeeze Page does not give you a lot of space to add content. Although what they go give is more that sufficient for most situations if you wanted to do more advanced functions, you would probably be better served by creating a template that you would subsequently host on your own servers. Again, that is for more advanced internet folk.

Also, the testing feature doesn’t allow you to keep old versions of items you already tested. Although, this won’t really matter for most people, the ability to track the combination of multiple components without having to keep a separate log of those items and re-entering them into Your Squeeze Page would be helpful. Then again, they would probably have to charge you more for the extra storage. . . Again, you will unlikely to give a damn about that anyway.

What’s the verdict?

I enjoyed using Your Squeeze Page to create my squeeze page. It was very easy to use with every step clearly laid out with video tutorials. The testing feature is pretty good considering that most people don’t take the time to test anyway. I am NOT and avid tester so the basic capabilities are just fine. There were a few cases where I would have liked to test old components in new combinations but unfortunately I am lazy. Kind of the unsung part of the program is that it forces you to think about what you are offering and makes sure you lay your offer out in a way that will increase conversions for you. All in all, I recommend it.

Marketing Makeover Generator

This is my favorite squeeze page generator because of some of the extras they give you. It is created by Rick Raddatz, Armand Morin, and Alex Mandossian and they have a history of creating useful products.

Being a subscription service, they offer you a 7-day trial subscription for only $1. That trial gets you access to creating an unlimited number of squeeze pages. (Well, at least as many as you have time for.)

They offer step by step video instructions so that you can quickly learn their process of making the pages. You can also do a preview of your page as you build it so that you are sure that it doesn’t look like crap.

Marketing Makeover Generator also has built in templates that you can use to structure your pages. In addition to that, it comes with some stock photos but you may upload your own.

The audio and video capability is what excited me the most. You have the ability to create audio right in the system so you don’t have to stop your creative flow to open another program or log into another service.

With the audio, there are 2 options available for you. One, you can call an 800 number they give and enter the code that they also provide and speak your message into the phone. However, you are charged 15 cents a minute if you use the toll free number. Not a big deal but if you have a mic of your own and don’t want to pay the toll charges, you can record it right with in the system as well. The system even gives you a teleprompter function!

If you have a web cam and a mic, you can record video just as well. I am not a video kind of guy, since my face is made for radio, so I have not explored the video functionality. I have seen pages produced by Marketing Makeover Generator with the video and it looks really good. Click here for an example.

Marketing Makeover Generator will give you a lot more room to add additional content, even html code, so that you can give your prospects more reasons to opt in without giving too much info away, of course.

This program also has a built in auto responder! This is fine for a novice but not so good for a pro. That’s why they let you integrate your account with Aweber, 1ShoppingCart and Get Contact. To integrate it seemed a little difficult at first but a quick email to tech support with Aweber gave me the answers I needed.

Marketing Makeover Generator also has a good testing system. You can enter multiple headlines, bullet points, audio, images, etc. to test! The beauty of this system is that it will automatically pick the best coverting option for you. For lazy people like me, this is perfect!

You also get the ability to have a pre-made exit pop up asking why your prospect didn’t give you their information. It has a comment form built in so that if they do give you a reason, it could be used to tweak the message on your squeeze page and further increase conversions.

Marketing Makeover Generator also gives you some on page SEO options. You can add header tags, keyword tags, etc.

Overall, Marketing Makeover Generator is one of the better products that I have seen. With all of the built in audio and video components you will save time and money if your audio and video needs are modest. In other words, pros may need more advanced features that are offered in other programs but the basics that most folks will use are covered.

If you only need to create one squeeze page, Marketing Makeover Generator will be way more than you’ll need. For 2 or more, then it is the one for you. Go ahead and sign up for the $1 trial to check it out yourself.

Stay tuned to part three when I go over ” Your Squeeze Page ” and how it differs from Marketing Makeover Generator.
