One of the things that I hope to eliminate from my vocabulary this year is the whole thing about an “Internet Business”. I first heard Dan Kennedy refer to the internet as simply a marketing channel, which is exactly what it is, a channel.
Too often people get a marketing channel confused with a business type, I was guilty of this as well. Think of the other marketing channels available and add the word ‘business’ to the end such as a TV business or a Radio Business, etc. Sounds silly unless you control the airwaves of course.
Tommy from Planet Bluto put it better when he said that there is no such thing as an internet business and I agree, check out the post here because he explains it a lot better than I can.
I don’t know if you’ve heard but NETWORK MARKETING IS NOW DEAD! Wow it has been a rough year for business models and revenue sources. Adsense died a year ago, then it was the sales letter, followed by Internet Marketing. Good thing that John Reese brought Internet Marketing back to life! I was getting worried!
Now apparently Network Marketing has finally the bucket. .
Oh Network Marketing, how I miss thee! If only someone can sell me a way to revive it! Good thing Mike Filsaime has been around to deliver the bad news on a couple of these. I think I would have missed out otherwise (just pickin on you Mike, LOL). Okay, I am done being sarcastic but the whole “Death Of” is getting a bit ridiculous and funny all at the same time.
What do you think will die next?
What you think the next “Death Of” report/bulletin/shocking expose will be. How about this one, The Death of Search Engine Optimization! Wait, did someone already do that one?

I just wanted to let you know about another one of my favorite tools. If you are like me you probably have a million and one logins and passwords to keep track of. What most people tend to do is keep their passwords the same or very similar because it is a pain keeping track of them all (especially if you have a couple hundred!).
It was luck that I stumbled across Roboform. I was looking for it but here was a program that kept track of your logins, sign up identities, etc that was a lot more secure the the spreadsheet I used previously. So I signed up for the free trial and gave it a spin.
Roboform works beautifully. So that you know, it is a tool bar that works in IE and Firefox that detects when there is a login form on a web page. If you type in a login that it doesn’t recognize, it asks you if you want to save it. If you are on a page where Roboform already has a login saved, it displays it in the tool bar. All you have to do is hover over it and click “Fill & Submit” and it logs you in!
Head on over to Roboform and download the free trial (it let’s you store about 10 keywords before it shuts down on you). If you like it, invest the $29 buck for the full version and never worry about your passwords again.
Okay, I know that you are probably getting inundated with email talking about product launches. I am guilty of promoting some of them. What gets me is that after doing this for a couple of years (not blogging though, just getting used to this medium) all of these launches and product start to sound the same.
Maybe its just deja vu?
Maybe I am losing my mind. . .
(Isn’t it a full moon?)
Anyway, I have stop buying most of the stuff out there with few exceptions. (no I won’t be listing anything here for those of you already rolling your eyes). One thing that I have noticed that works for just about anyone is finding a mentor, making yourself useful to them, and soaking up every morsel of knowledge they give you and put it it to play, of course.
That’s the secret! There are a lot of doodads, widgets, and miracle cures floating around but none of it matters if you don’t find a mentor. The times that I have swayed from this have always spelled disaster, including recently.
That’s it for now, just had to get that off my chest. What ever you end up buying make sure you don’t work on it in a vacuum. Get away from your computer for a moment and find a mentor.

There was a video that I saw a while back that thoroughly intrigued me but eventually I forgot about it. Now it has resurfaced and I cant stop thinking about what it means for me, my business, my family. If you haven’t seen this video yet, you may be a little shocked at some of the information it presents but at least you can start the conversation on how you can be prepared for the seemingly inevitable.
I would love to get your thoughts on this so please post your comments.
Here’s the video:
